Everyone who has managed their inventory with pen and paper knows this already: The inventory list is kept in the pantry and is available day and night, ready for when something needs to be added or removed. No technical equipment, electricity, or a working internet connection is necessary for this.
If you don't want to miss out on the technical features of the Pantry App, such as the nutrient calculator, the preparation mode and the barcode scanner for quick capture, then we might have the solution for you!
In the Pantry Web-App, we offer a print function that allows you to export the inventory of all storage locations of a household (a community) as a PDF, so you can then print it out. Alternatively, you can also export the inventory of each storage location individually as a PDF, so that you can leave this printout at the respective storage location.
Have you recorded your inventory using the iOS or Android app? No problem, simply log in with your credentials on the web app, and you can print from there too - your inventory will always be synchronized.

Overview of all storage locations
First, we will show you how to print a list of all storage locations. We have taken screenshots of the app and highlighted the respective button.
1. Go to the overview of your communities:

2. By clicking on the green printer icon, you create a PDF file. It will be automatically downloaded to your PC after creation.

Next, we want to show you how to create a list for a single storage location.
First, open the storage location whose items you want to print.Overview of all storage locations
2. At the storage location, click on the green printer icon. It will generate a PDF file and download it.

3. You can print out the finished PDF and leave it as a reference at the respective storage location.

Why does the print contain these strange rectangles ☐☐☐?
Once the PDF has been exported, or the printout has been made, the listed inventories inevitably become outdated over time. Therefore, the printout should be updated regularly. If this is done in the app, a new printout can easily be created.
However, if a smartphone is not at hand, a withdrawal can also be made on the printout: For each item taken, exactly one box is crossed out ☐ - as exactly one box is printed per item. This way, even after several items have been taken, you always know exactly how many items are still in stock. In a regular cycle, the inventories can then also be updated and transferred back into the app.
If you're only going to be offline for a short time, there's no need to worry: In our iOS and Android app, you can temporarily also work offline.

New version in open beta: What’s inside Smantry V1.25.0

Articles are automatically merged when moved
A small but very helpful improvement:
When you move an item to another storage location and an identical item already exists there, the quantities are now merged automatically.
This ensures:
- more clarity
- fewer duplicate entries
- a cleaner inventory list
Simplified onboarding
New users in particular should be able to find their way around Smantry quickly. That’s why the onboarding process has been revised and simplified.
Getting started in the app is now even more clearly structured and guides you step by step through the most important features.
Improved email verification
We’ve also made some important improvements behind the scenes.
The email verification process has been optimized, so new accounts can be confirmed more reliably.
This ensures a more stable sign-up process and fewer issues during registration.
Additional bug fixes
In addition, various minor issues have been fixed, including the following:
- Account links
- Navigation within the app
Our goal is to make Smantry a bit more stable and pleasant with every update.
Now in open beta
Version 1.25.0 is already running in the open beta.
As soon as the final tests have been successfully completed, the update will be rolled out to all users shortly.

Why some things are (still) not perfect
What you often don’t see from the outside: Smantry is developed by a very small team.
Right now we are 5 people, and none of us works full-time on the app. We do this alongside other projects, jobs, and commitments – with a lot of passion, but limited resources.
That doesn’t explain everything, but it provides context:
- Some functions take longer
- Technical issues (e.g. with premium activations) unfortunately happen sometimes
- Not every idea can be implemented right away
Frequently asked questions from your reviews
Why a subscription?
The subscription allows us to cover server costs, ongoing development, updates, and support in the first place. Without continuous revenue, Smantry would not be able to exist in the long term.
"Why isn’t the bug I reported being fixed?"
Sometimes there are several bugs at the same time and we have to prioritize the ones that affect core functions. That can mean that a different bug gets fixed first. We always try to resolve everything quickly – but unfortunately we can only do it step by step.
Why doesn’t Premium sometimes work right away?
Subscriptions are managed through the app stores. In rare cases, synchronization issues can occur. That’s annoying, but not intentional – our support team will always help you with this personally.
Where we want to go
Smantry is meant to get better – not just on paper, but in real everyday life.
This includes:
- more features from the web app
- better stability
- more flexibility with categories
- clearer communication

Autumn leftover cooking means: use instead of waste, but with a touch of sophistication. Here are some more unusual ideas to turn leftovers into small culinary highlights.
🧀 1. Pumpkin Gnocchi from leftover roasted vegetables
Do you have some leftover roasted pumpkin or sweet potato from the day before? Perfect!
